Find an item in the catalog...

The library catalog can be found online under Catalog on our library home page.   Once you have selected the Library Catalog link, you can search for books, videotapes, books on tape and material from our tribal collection.

1. If you want to search for an item in the SKC library only, be sure to choose Salish Kootenai College from the "Select Library" menu (the selection should appear highlighted).
2. Next, make a selection in the "Search by" menu, noting that the selections with the * will be searched in all the library catalogs, not just in the SKC catalog.   The keyword search is the most commonly used and asks you to enter terms that may show up in the catalog record, such as words in the title, subject, and author's name or in the book description.   A title search is the most straightforward if you are searching for a specific item and you know the title.
3. Enter the search terms in the "Search for" box and hit your enter key on your keyboard, or scroll to the bottom of the catalog page and select "search."  
4. When a record appears, be sure to notice whether the item is available or checked out and copy down the call number.
