Welcome To SKC-D’Arcy McNickle Library



“The D’Arcy McNickle Library serves as the academic library for Salish Kootenai College (SKC), the Tribal Library for the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes (CSKT), and public library for the residents of the Flathead Reservation. The Library supports the mission of Salish Kootenai College by providing information resources, promoting information literacy through formal and informal instruction, and assisting faculty, staff and students in their efforts to achieve academic success. The Library makes a special effort to collect all materials relating to the Tribes, their history, culture, and Reservation affairs. The Library seeks to be an active source of information for the Reservation Community.” -SKC Library Mission Statement

The D’Arcy McNickle Library’s Mission includes “making a special effort to collect all materials relating to the Tribes, their history and culture and Reservation affairs.”

From the Salish Kootenai College’s beginning the D’Arcy McNickle Library has been a central element in its’ learning environment.

A gift to the D’Arcy McNickle Library will help students and faculty in their learning pursuits. A gift to the D’Arcy McNickle Library will help ensure the tribes history and culture, are gathered together for the study and pursuit of knowledge for following generations.

You may give to the Library’s Memorial Fund, which is used to augment the Library’s current budget. You may designate your donation go towards the purchase of books, payment of databases subscriptions, or journal subscriptions.

The library is reconfiguring its’ space with plans to better utilize the area it is currently in. Donations are welcome towards student study tables and chairs that will allow for efficient use of the space available.
